Primary School Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Buckton Vale Primary School

Contract: Fixed Term,

Maternity Cover Hours: Full Time

Salary: M1 – M6 (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

Buckton Vale Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and inspiring teacher to join our dedicated team on a maternity cover basis. We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring every child achieves their full potential and who can create a stimulating, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that engage and motivate pupils.
  •  Support children to make excellent progress in line with their individual needs and abilities.
  •  Create a positive classroom environment that promotes high expectations of learning and behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupil achievement and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold the school's values and ethos. 
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide regular feedback to pupils and parents.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. ·
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable: 

  • Experience in upper Key Stage 2. 
  • Knowledge of effective strategies to support pupils with SEND. ·
  • Experience of using assessment data to improve outcomes.
